  • Four different winners in four races underline the competitiveness of the fastest one-make cup in the Benelux

  • Double rookie wins for Frank Porté Ruiz; PRO-AM victories go to Niels Troost and Jules Grouwels

Zandvoort, 8 June 2025 – The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux once again confirmed its reputation as a premier motorsport championship in the Low Countries. During the DTM weekend at Circuit Zandvoort, two action-packed sprint races thrilled the crowds with home victories for Dutchmen Niels Langeveld (RedAnt Racing) and Sam Jongejan (Team RaceArt), while Sweden’s Robin Knutsson (NGT Racing) leaves Zandvoort as the championship leader heading into the Hungaroring round.

In the Rookie class, Frank Porté Ruiz (Q1 Trackracing) from Andorra took a commanding double win, underlining his ambitions for the title. In PRO-AM, victories went to Niels Troost (Team GP Elite) and Jules Grouwels (Team RaceArt). The next stop for the series is the Hungaroring on 4–6 July for races five and six of the season.

Langeveld Dominates at Home Zandvoort delivered not only top racing, but also challenging weather conditions. Saturday morning saw heavy rain, and it was in these tricky circumstances that Niels Langeveld took pole position, also setting the second-best lap time to secure pole for Sunday’s race. That earned him the Tag Heuer Pole Position Award and a strong starting position for both home races.

In Saturday’s race, the experienced Dutchman put in a flawless drive, leading from lights to flag.“I’m incredibly happy with this win,” Langeveld beamed. “I started my career here and returned to this Porsche series to race more in the Netherlands. Winning like this, in front of packed grandstands, is something special.”

Behind him, Robin Knutsson secured vital championship points with a hard-fought second place, followed by Sam Jongejan, who claimed his second P3 finish of the season. Domas Raudonis (Team GP Elite) and Jaap van Lagen (Team RaceArt), who entered the weekend as the points leader, followed closely. Nick Ho (PG Motorsport) rounded out the top six.

In the Rookie class, Frank Porté Ruiz claimed his first win ahead of Milan Marczak (RedAnt Racing) and Mees Muller (PG Motorsport). Niels Troost took the win in PRO-AM, finishing ahead of Jules Grouwels (Team RaceArt) and Henri Tuomaala (Team Koiranen).

Jongejan Masters the Rain Sunday’s race was a wet-weather showdown, with heavy rain turning the circuit into a slippery battleground. Sam Jongejan emerged as the standout driver, delivering a composed and tactical performance.“I love racing in the rain – it really levels the playing field,” he said. “I built my race step-by-step, and this win is really satisfying.”

Jongejan took the win ahead of teammate Jaap van Lagen and Robin Knutsson, who now leads the overall standings. Niels Langeveld came home fourth, just ahead of standout rookie Frank Porté Ruiz.

“What a weekend,” said Porté Ruiz. “The Rookie title is the main goal, but of course I want to challenge at the front overall too. Given the tough conditions, I’m very happy with this result.”

Porté Ruiz finished ahead of Rookie leader Milan Marczak and Alexandra Vateva (Q1 Trackracing), the newest member of the Iron Dames. In PRO-AM, Jules Grouwels won ahead of Henri Tuomaala and Jani Käkelä (39 Racing), retaining his class lead.

Championship Standings Robin Knutsson leads the overall standings with 75 points, followed by Jaap van Lagen (71) and Niels Langeveld (60).
