Circuit Zolder, Monday, September 15, 2025. The penultimate round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux delivered drama and fireworks on the Limburg track, with Jaap van Lagen and Sam Jongejan each claiming a win for Team RaceArt. The experienced Dutchman goes into the decisive weekend of the season with a 25-point advantage over Robin Knutsson (NGT Racing) and teammate Jongejan, with 51 points still available.

Van Lagen arrived at Zolder fully determined, and he made that clear in qualifying. Clocking a 1:29.618, he stormed to pole position, just two-tenths shy of Glenn van Parijs’ all-time benchmark. “I made a small mistake at the end of the lap, without that, the record would have been mine. I lost sleep over it last night,” he admitted on Sunday morning. Milan Marczak (RedAnt Racing) topped the rookies, while Jules Grouwels (Team RaceArt) was the best in PRO-AM.

Van Lagen doubles up with second win of the year

In Sunday’s opening race, Van Lagen converted pole into victory with a flawless drive. Behind him, the action was relentless: Jongejan charged from fifth on the grid to second, while Knutsson rounded out the podium in third.

“This was a crucial result for the championship fight, and it certainly didn’t come easy here at Zolder,” said Van Lagen after sealing his second win of 2025.

Niels Langeveld (RedAnt Racing) and rookie winner Frank Porté Ruiz (Q1 Trackracing) completed the top five.

“This was a key win in my rookie title battle,” said the Andorran youngster. “That’s why I stayed focused on my class rather than the outright fight at the front.” He triumphed ahead of Milan Marczak and Max Schlichenmeier. In PRO-AM, Jules Grouwels beat Jani Käkelä (39 Racing).

Jongejan strikes again for third win of the season

Race 2 again saw a Team RaceArt car on pole, but this time it was Jongejan who made the decisive move, overtaking Van Lagen early on. The teammates crossed the line first and second, sealing the team championship in style.

“It was far from easy,” said Jongejan. “The circuit was very dusty, especially on the racing line, so you had to adjust your driving lines. I figured it out quickly, made my move on Jaap, and took my third win. To also deliver the team title with him is fantastic!”

Knutsson once more completed the podium, finishing ahead of Langeveld and Nick Ho (PG Motorsport). Rookie honors went to Max Schlichenmeier, who celebrated his maiden win ahead of Milan Marczak and Mees Muller (PG Motorsport). In PRO-AM, Grouwels again defeated Käkelä.

All eyes now turn to the season finale at Circuit Zandvoort on September 27-28, where the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux champion will be crowned.
