Jules Grouwels celebrates first Pro-Am title

Circuit Zandvoort, 29 September 2025. Dutch veteran Jaap van Lagen (Team RaceArt) has been crowned the new Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux champion at Zandvoort, succeeding last year’s winner Dirk Schouten. The 48-year-old clinched the title after the opening race of the season finale, in which his teammate Jules Grouwels sealed the Pro-Am championship. Earlier, Team RaceArt had already secured the teams’ title at Circuit Zolder. In the Rookie class, it was Milan Marczak (Redant Racing) who had to wait until the very last race before confirming his name on the honors list. With the curtain falling at Zandvoort, the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux concludes an open and thrilling season.
Pole positions in changing conditions
On Saturday morning, Sam Jongejan (Team RaceArt) and Jaap van Lagen mastered a drying track to claim the front rows for both weekend races, while Frank Porté Ruiz (Q1 Trackracing) and Jules Grouwels each set the benchmark twice in the Rookie class qualifying.

“We really worked as a strong team”
In race one, Jongejan led for a long time, chased closely by Van Lagen, Niels Langeveld (Redant Racing) and Robin Knutsson (NGT Racing). In the closing stages, Van Lagen seized control, taking both the win and the championship.
"Today we truly raced as a united team," smiled Van Lagen, from his hometown of Ede. "A championship is always special, but to do it here at Zandvoort, in front of my supporters and partners, makes it unforgettable. I’ll carry this moment with me for the rest of my motorsport life. Huge thanks to the team and my teammate, we really stood as one, and that delivered results."

Behind Van Lagen, Jongejan finished second, followed by Langeveld and Knutsson, who would continue their podium battle on Sunday. Nick Ho (PG Motorsport) took fifth, while Rookie winner Milan Marczak (Redant Racing) headed to Sunday’s decider as class leader. He finished ahead of Max Schlichenmeier (Cargraphic by Kurt Ecke Motorsport)and Mees Muller (PG Motorsport).
In Pro-Am, Henri Tuomaala (Team Koiranen) claimed the win, followed by Grouwels and Jani Käkelä (39 Racing). That result was enough to seal the crown for Grouwels.
"Fantastic! After finishing runner-up in class last year, this title is the ultimate reward," said a delighted Grouwels. "It was another intense fight, but I enjoyed every moment."

Van Lagen ends on a high, Marczak best Rookie
On Sunday, attention shifted to the fight for second and third in the overall standings, and the Rookie title showdown. From pole, Van Lagen controlled the race from start to finish, closing the season in style. Behind him, Jongejan, Langeveld, and Knutsson battled fiercely for the podium and championship positions. In the end, Langeveld secured runner-up honors, ahead of Knutsson, while Jongejan, despite finishing seventh, took the vice-champion title ahead of both.
In the Rookies, Milan Marczak timed his attack perfectly in the closing stages, winning both the race and the championship. Frank Porté Ruiz finished second on the day and in the final standings, while Muller claimed one last podium appearance.
"I’m so proud and happy, for my family, for the team, that I could take this title," said the young Marczak. "It was a pure race, and I waited for the right moment to strike!"
In Pro-Am, Grouwels wrapped up his campaign with another victory, ahead of Tuomaala and Käkelä.

With that, the curtain falls on the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, a season full of spectacle and world-class racing. See you next year for more action!
