Spa-Francorchamps is preparing for the start of the twelfth season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux

-        22 participants will provide excitement and spectacle during the Belgian round of the FIA WEC

-        Porsche ambiance assured in the paddock in the Ardennes

Before the start of the twelfth season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, the fastest one-make cup in the Low Countries will of course head to Spa-Francorchamps. Traditionally, the championship starts there during the Belgian round of the FIA WEC and that is also the case this season. Twenty-two super-fast Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – decide who will be the winner in the Ardennes, not just once, but of course in two races of 30 minutes and one lap.

After the official test day of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux a month ago, the drivers and teams are now fully ready for the start of the real deal. We previously introduced the starting field to you and that starting field has many new drivers, which fits perfectly with the philosophy of the competition. One of those newcomers is the fast Dutch veteran Niels Langeveld, who defends the colors of Q1 Trackracing.

At 36, I am not as young as a good part of the competition,” laughs Langeveld, “but I am very driven to race at the front. The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux is a new challenge for me, and I am consciously taking on that challenge. This competition is the best we have in the Benelux in terms of motorsport, with a very high-quality sporting battle on the asphalt and very strong marketing opportunities in the paddock for my sponsors, among others. The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux is simply a wonderful championship for participating in motorsport in a professional manner. Moreover, racing a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is simply every driver's dream!

One of Niels Langeveld's challengers will undoubtedly be Belgian promise Benjamin Paque, who races for D'Ieteren Luxury Performance. Paque already has a lot of experience at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – and makes no secret of his ambitions: “I am extremely happy to contest my first full season in this strong competition. This championship has a very nice spirit and in that spirit I want to fight and win. So appointment will be for the first race in Spa-Francorchamps.

As previously communicated, the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux 2024 will be a season with six rounds, each with two races over thirty minutes and one lap, during very high-end motorsport events, such as the FIA WEC, the DTM, the ELMS and the International GT Open. In addition to the general ranking, the competition also has a PRO-AM class, the ranking for the rookies and a team ranking.

Enjoy the Porsche ambiance in the paddock

The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux not only offers a high-quality sporting level, the championship is also a very strong marketing platform, as Jo Peeters, Marketing and Communication Manager Porsche Belgium knows: “The Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux fits seamlessly with the DNA of our brand. From that perspective, we are strong partners and we find many opportunities for the various Porsche Centres, who will be happy to be present in Spa-Francorchamps. We are really looking forward to the sporting battle but we will also enjoy the wonderful Porsche ambiance in the paddock!”

In addition, during the season opener, the drivers and teams will experience the premiere of the 'Michelin Star Of The Weekend' award, “where a jury presents the prize to a driver, team manager, mechanic or other employee of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, who that weekend was particularly distinguished or deserving,” said Thierry Van Dalen of Kronos Racing. “This prize will be available after every weekend of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and includes a voucher of 500 euros for a Michelin star restaurant.”
