- Title battle erupts on all fronts

- Two-time Porsche Mobil1 Supercup champion Larry ten Voorde makes a guest appearance

Zonhoven, August 9, 2023. The summer break is over for the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and the second half of the season starts this weekend during the immensely popular JACK's Racing Day at the famous TT Circuit Assen. The fourth round of the fastest one-make cup in the Benelux will of course include two races of 30 minutes plus one lap, in which the title battle will gradually take center stage. The established values of the championship will be joined in the north of the Netherlands by a well-known name in Porsche circles: Larry ten Voorde. The two-time Porsche Mobil1 Supercup champion will certainly sell his skin dearly in front of his home crowd.

Spa, Hockenheim and Zandvoort were already on the program of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and Assen, Zolder and the Red Bull Ring will follow before we will know the champions at the end of September.

“The green light for our second half of the season will indeed follow at the TT Circuit Assen,” says Olivier Aerts, Series Manager of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux. “We are guests, as usual I dare say, at the very popular JACK's Racing Day. We can expect a mass of spectators here again and they will get top-shelf motorsport from us, with a strong starting field and great competitions, as we have seen all season. I think the fans have already enjoyed the first part of the season and the second part will definitely be just as good, if not better!”

Strong guests and regulars

Of course we see the regulars at the TT Circuit Assen, with the leaders in the championship at the front: Robert de Haan (Richardson Racing) and Glenn Van Parijs (AUGUST by NGT) who won the championship with 121 and 104 points respectively. followed by Ariel Levi (Huber Racing – 65), Sam Dejonghe (RedAnt Racing – 62), Dirk Schouten (Q1 Trackracing – 61), Flynt Schuring (Huber Racing – 59) and Benjamin Paque (AUGUST by NGT – 51).

They will undoubtedly be joined at the front by one of the fastest Porsche drivers in Europe or should we say in the world: Larry ten Voorde. He will do it in the colors of JW Raceservice. His palmares includes two titles in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup (2020-2021) and as many awards in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland (2020-2021). During the 2019-2020 season, he also won bronze in the GTE Am World Championship as part of the FIA WEC, also with Porsche, of course. The 26-year-old Dutchman from Enschede will certainly be there.

Also in the PRO class we see another new name, namely Wouter Boerekamps (DUWO Racing).

To reiterate, Sacha Norden (Team GP Elite) leads the PRO-AM class, while Britain's Aaron Mason (Revs Motorsport) and Belgian Didier Glorieux (Speedlover) are second and third, while Ralph Poppelaars (Hans Weijs Motorsport) and Cedric Chassang (Team GP Elite) fighting out the title fight in 'AM'. Former champion Roger Grouwels (Speedlover) makes his comeback in that class. Hans Weijs (Hans Weijs Motorsport) will join the ranks in PRO-AM.

Appointment during the weekend of 11-12-13 August at the TT Circuit Assen for the fourth meeting of the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, with both free practice sessions of 40 minutes on Friday (10:36 AM and 3:13 PM), while on Saturday at 9:01 AM the starting order determined for both races.
